"I tried several today," NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio tweeted.
NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio took an out-of-this-world selfie on Wednesday.
While Earth-bound selfie takers simply have to pose, point and shoot, it seems that snapping a selfie in space is a little more difficult. "The space suit makes it very difficult to get a good selfie," Mastracchio tweeted, adding, "I tried several today."
According to The Associated Press, Mastracchio and fellow astronaut Steven Swanson were replacing a dead computer outside the International Space Station. The dead computer was a backup, but NASA wanted to replace it as soon as possible.
Following the spacewalk, which lasted just one hour and 36 minutes, ground controllers powered up the device, ran diagnostics and updated software on the external computer restoring redundancy to the station's truss system.
Commander Koichi Wakata performed health checks on Mastracchio and Swanson after their spacewalk, NASA says.
